A Clock Tower film adaption was announced in 2008. Its development has stalled numerous times, and very little is known about it thus far and it is unknown if it will ever be made.

Synopsis[]

A synopsis of the film first published in 2007, follows:

An Ivy League-bound high school student gets a call from her birth mother whom she as no recognition of and starts to wonder where she came from, so with her sister decides to visit her childhood home, there she uncovers what she had long buried in her mind, a force they called The Scissor Man.

After that, the film has been changed and a second plot synopsis was released in 2008 with several changes in the plot:

A woman is tormented by an evil that has haunted her family for generations, but the only man who believes her is the psychiatrist she meets in a mental institution. Together they must find the source of her family's damnation and then fight for their lives, until the curse is finally laid to rest.

Development[]

The movie underwent various changes, and for a while the release date was set for 2010, then later pushed back to 2011. It was confirmed that the movie now has no director and was described by Martin Weisz as "being in limbo."

In 2011, David R. Ellis became the director of the movie, and it was given a tentative release date of October 2013 (USA). The probably reason for its backwardness is that part of the film's script was leaked online, according to various rumors. On January 7th, 2013, David R. Ellis was found dead in his hotel room in South Africa, leaving the film once again with no director.
